Feminist Perspectives is a series of topical, provocative, issue-oriented papers and essays exploring many aspects of women’s experience and concerns.

It is becoming more and more certain that the reality of many women’s lives is bound up in the creation and maintenance of new kinds of spaces and new uses of urban space. This paper explores these changes and how changes in women’s activities give rise to new environmental needs, and how these new needs, in turn, lead to the creation of new environments.
