Executive Director Jackie Neapole representing Canada in a powerful intervention during the United Nation’s 69th Commission on the Status of Women/ Beijing+30 session. This statement was made in collaboration with Bonnie Douglas from the Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology. Jackie underlines the crucial role of feminist civil society and advocates for our meaningful engagement as part of a revitalization of the CSW.

The main focus was on the review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly. This included an assessment of current challenges that affect the implementation of the Platform for Action and the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women and its contribution towards the full realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The sixty-ninth session took place from 10 to 21 March 2025 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
