Who’s involved?

Engendering Public Engagement, Democratizing Public Space  centres on a partnership among three organizations: the Canadian Research Institute for Research on the Advancement of Women (CRIAW), the Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA), and the Centre for Feminist Research (CFR).

The role of CRIAW is as a non-profit “knowledge broker”. CRIAW will be working with the Policy Advisory and Outreach Committee to produce accessible materials on policy issues and options, and to create an ongoing Gender and Public Policy Research Network.

FAFIA, a coalition of sixty-five community-based women’s human rights organizations, will play an essential role in recruiting participants to the public engagement exercises through its extensive network of local organizations and in contributing its expertise on women's human rights.

The CFR will provide an institutional home for the project and coordinate York University support for the project.
